Shelter-in-place orders and involuntary remote workforces have been a catalyst for the exponential use of alternative communication channels and virtual collaboration tools such as Zoom, GoToMeeting, Skype, Teams, Slack, WeChat, Jabber, FaceBook Groups, etc. Indeed, the pandemic has made the video conferencing platform Zoom a daily fixture for business people conferring about trade secrets and confidential information. Without the luxury of a mindful adoption and implementation process, what IG challenges has the sudden widespread embrace of such technologies presented? This panel will address “lessons learned” over the past year of heightened use of such tools/platforms due to the lingering impacts of COVID-19.
